You Don’t Need to Have It All Figured Out

Most brides start wedding dress shopping feeling overwhelmed.

There’s a lot of information out there, and not all of it is helpful. You might feel like you’re supposed to know exactly what you want before you even walk into a bridal boutique.

You don’t.

When you come to The Bridal Loft, we’ll guide you through everything. You’re not expected to have all the answers walking in. From narrowing down your style to helping you feel confident in your decision, we’re right there with you through the entire process.

When Should You Start Wedding Dress Shopping?

One of the most common questions we get is when to buy a wedding dress.

Most gowns take several months to arrive, so we typically recommend starting the wedding dress shopping process 9 to 12 months before your wedding when possible.

If your timeline is shorter, don’t stress. We work with many brides on a range of timelines and will guide you through the best options based on what’s available. There are often more possibilities than you might expect.

What to Expect at Your Bridal Appointment

Your bridal appointment at The Bridal Loft is guided by an expert stylist who hand selects gowns based on your vision and how you want to feel on your wedding day.

We don’t expect you to figure this out on your own. We’re experts in fit, construction, and styling, and we’ll guide you every step of the way, making sure you feel supported, heard, and confident throughout the process.

Rather than browsing racks, everything is curated for you. This allows for a more personal experience and helps you stay focused on what actually works for you.

Wedding Dress Pricing and Investment

Our wedding dresses start around $4,000 and range up to approximately $12,000, with most brides finding their dress between $4,000 and $7,000.

Pricing can vary based on fabric, construction, and designer.

We believe in full transparency, so pricing is always shared as you try on.

Sample Sizing

Our sample gowns vary in size. Your stylist will help you in and out of each dress and use professional styling techniques to help you visualize the fit.
It’s completely normal for a wedding dress to not fit perfectly off the rack. That’s part of the process.

Wedding Dress Alterations

Wedding dress alterations are an important part of the process and are what truly bring your gown to life.

Alterations typically begin about 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding date. If you’re planning on doing bridal portraits, just let us know so we can plan your timeline accordingly.

We don’t recommend starting alterations too early, as your body can naturally change leading up to your wedding. Starting at the right time helps ensure the best fit and avoids the need for additional adjustments.

Most brides invest between $500 and $1,200 in alterations depending on what is needed.

We offer in house wedding dress alterations exclusively for our brides, so everything is handled with care and consistency from start to finish.

What to Bring to Your Bridal Appointment

Nude undergarments are helpful, along with any inspiration you’d like to share.

We also recommend bringing a small, supportive group. Try to include the people whose opinions matter most to you, and be mindful not to leave out someone you know you would want there if you find your dress. It’s hard to recreate that moment later.

What Most Brides Get Wrong

This part is completely normal, but we see it all the time during wedding dress shopping.

Coming in with a very fixed idea of what they want
Bringing too many opinions into the room
Waiting longer than they meant to start shopping

One of the biggest surprises for most brides is that they end up loving something they never would have picked for themselves. That’s why keeping an open mind makes such a difference.

A Final Note

You don’t need to know your dress, your silhouette, or have everything figured out before your bridal appointment.

That’s what we’re here for. Our job is to guide you, support you, and help you find something that feels like you in every way.
